                            My  Longest Ride

Jim  Ferguson and I made it to the Arctic Circle on July 17, 2003

Check out the trip to Alaska  Map

West Virginia (and southwestern Virginia) offer the motorcycle rider some of the best roads in the U.S. Most are back roads that curve through the mountains with very little traffic. With heights ranging from 1,000' to over 5,000', you can be on a mountain top looking at the beautiful surrounding vistas and a few minutes later, be in a cool dark glade in this ever-changing landscape. These roads are part of the same trails used by the pioneers that moved into this wild country two hundred years ago. Stop by some of the many rivers and streams and trod the same ground that the early Indians used while hunting and traveling from the upper Ohio to the Virginias.   The weather from early spring to late fall is excellent motorcycle, camping and hiking weather.  Come, spend some time and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Eat some of the best food ever. Camp in one of the many State Campgrounds or State and National Forests. Just a few miles south is the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. See it all from the back of a motorcycle or with a pack on your back.
